Every now and again I get offered geeky items to review, and this particular item that I got offered wasn’t actually all that geeky but it did capture my rather geeky imagination and got me thinking how it could be made to be geeky.  By all accounts this clock picture frame is really just that, a clock with the ability to put pictures around the edge of it.  But wait… what could you put in it that could be fun, interesting or down right silly!

Well I started out with the obvious… there’s 12 slots so how about binary…. Or maybe even mathematical equations… Oh but wait those have both already been done!  That just won’t do… So then I got thinking what are the geekiest pictures that I have already?  Well I have some original artwork from Comic Con artists, and a LOT of postcards from the event… now they do make an interesting addition to the frame.  However what I really want is to not have to put those originals into the frame especially since the sizes of the frame images are non standard and are actually quite small, you know what I’d rather do!?  I’d rather the individual picture frames were electronic frames, where I could upload the images and put a few in rotation on each hour. Now how cool would that be!  So far I’ve not found anyone doing it and I haven’t heard back from the manufacturer about whether they are planning anything like this. It could be it would use too much electricity but I’m sure there’s ways round these things these days.

If I had my ideal it’d be a binary clock in the middle with digital photoframes all around it and of course the screens would all be OLED of a sort, but then again I love my little geeky dream world.

What would your dream gadget be!? Here’s a few ideas from our readers….

An alarm clock that reminds you to set your alarm clock….

The Teleport machine

A screen that you can see in bright sunlight
