I was reading Ian Forrester’s blog this morning after him telling me about trying to get all the different London Events organisers to put their events onto google calendar. He didn’t get the uptake on it that he wanted. In fact the only events on the calendar at the moment are the Girl Geek Dinners and the Geek Dinners. That’s not good!

As Ian says a lot of organisers are using upcoming and eventful to either fully arrange their events or just market them. The problem with these sites is that they don’t tell you about conflicts on dates for different events, so the question here is what are the events organisers really after? Do they want competition for attendees or do they want to work together to arrange events and dates.

Some events like Mobile Mondays have pre defined dates, first monday of the month others are random dates because it’s a case of as and when speakers are available. All this being considered events become harder to run without clashing, and there are more and more of them popping up all over the place.

If you are looking for a comprehensive list of events in London I have put the Eventful, Upcoming and Google List up on the blog with relative rss feeds where they are available. Hopefully this will help people to keep track of what is on when. Lets hope the organisers all start working together on these things.

I wonder why they all chose the same week for their events?!
