As some of you may know, I have recently been involved with advising a few girl geek’s about setting up events around the world. The latest has been the girls over in Toronto who are setting up a girl geek dinner over there. They are now all set with their first event with sponsors, speakers, venues and everything! I’m once again impressed a the speed at which these networks are being set up.

Details of the event:

The inaugural Toronto Girl Geek Dinner on June 27th, 2007, sponsored by Women 2.0 Canada!

Toronto Girl Geek Dinners are an offshoot of the London Girl Geek Dinners much like the Italia, Brighton and Nottingham events. The goal of these get-togethers is to make technology accessible and interesting to all age groups and all people, particularly women. They take place in bars and restaurants, are really informal and usually involve a speaker.

Technology Consultant and entrepreneur Sandy Kemsley will be Toronto’s first speaker and she will share her expertise as a business owner and tell us about her work and challenges she’s faced as a woman in tech. There’ll be an open Q&A session at the end as well.

To find out more and register for their first get-together (seating is limited), please visit: http://www.torontogirlgeekdinners.ca//
