Twitter simply asks: ‘what are you doing?’
Founder of Rocketboom, Andrew Baron’s latest Tweet’s will read ‘up for sale’, as he allows bids for his Twitter account, followers and all. In true social networking style you can stake interest in Andrew’s digital life on ebay that includes 1,506 followers and as of this morning was already up to $1,125.
So does this mean that all of Mr Baron’s friends are now your friends? Can one just transfer across friend lists, or is this about an implicit differential arrangement of SNS for a ‘fit for purpose’ social engagement?
I’ve been finding that I’m using Twitter more and more, not necessarily to follow or make ‘friends’, but I enjoy the small scale updates that intrigue attention and pull toward other users. Perhaps this is one way that Biz Stone can ensure some profitability; a means to buy, share, speculate and ‘invest’ on the Tweets and followers on Twitter. I’m wondering if this means that my account at a mere 86 followers is of less value than Tech Crunch’s Michael Arrington’s 12, 892…
Or is it a case of quality not quantity?
