Well I got a nice surprise the other day when I had Twitter running! Jane pointed out that GirlycGeekdom got a mention on Monday’s Mobuzz! It was quite a surprise to me! And I’m happy to say that we haven’t been bundled together with the “fluffy” blogs or the “vlogs” which seem to be giving themselves a bit of a reputation of being not so technical and more about who’s doing the talking. I’m actually surprised that they even noticed us in our little world of Girly Geekdom!

Now one thing some of you may not know is that I’d been contacted by a number of different online vlog sites asking if I would do a regular piece on their sites. One example was Nuts TV. Now you can imagine my reaction there! I mean I want to be taken as a serious techie not just a pretty face, if you know what I mean. It would never ever do my tech credentials any good doing something like that! (shock horror!) On a different note I’m not one for getting in front of a video camera… I get all shy ;)

I always vowed that any site I was working with or on was sensible and true to my values. I’m glad to say so far I’ve stuck to that. I’m pretty sure that we’ll end up getting more technical as time goes on but we don’t want to alienate anyone, but please do tell us if we either aren’t being technical enough or are moving into nerdy world. So here’s hoping you all have fun watching the piece from Mobuzz!

ps. I also noticed in the comments on the website that there were some sensible suggestions about not enforcing social stereotypes on children and making it acceptable to choose technology as a career for any child! It’s great to start hearing some really positive thinking about engaging people in technology more right from a young age. I love the comment from one guy who deliberately gave his daughter lego to play with! (I LOVE Lego!!!! I always did as a child too!)

pps. I was looking at the feedback on the mobile and gadgets stuff… looks like more yes than no or maybe so will get cracking on those posts now :)
