I am on my way out to Barcelona bright and early this morning… I can’t wait! Barcelona is one of those cities that I hear so much about and I look forward to exploring it. My time out there to explore will no doubt be a little limited due to my attendance at TechEd and ITForum 2006 however in the spare time that I do have I hope to explore the city a lot!

The following two weeks will be very interesting for the Girl Geek Dinners as this is the very first one that I have organised outside of the UK. I am hoping that by showing the girls in Barcelona that it can be done, they will take it on and keep it going once I have gone back to the UK. I shall keep my fingers crossed. If any of the girls that are attending the dinner would like to set up and run one in their own country or town they will have to let me know… I can offer them the details of how the current events are organsied and the ethos and drive behind them. I hope that a little bit of girly geek passion will spread throughout the world.

The events to date have been interesting and fun… and full of exciting and intelligent people sharing and swapping ideas, contacts and anecdotes. It is one of those rather unusual things where people don’t quite know what to expect when they turn up to the event, but don’t worry it was the same for me when I did the first one… and it’s such a fun learning curve.

Time for me to get some sleep… tomorrow is going to be a long day…. travel and the Barcelona Mobile Monday event :) A new city and a different MoMo… it should be interesting to see the contrast between London and Barcelona.
